I have my CCNA and was looking to build on it.  I however want to go the self-study route and want to build a lab for myself.  Can anyone recommend a lab setup that would serve me for both certifications?  I'm just not all that sure where to start/go with it.  Is ebay a good place to shop for complete labs or should I find a local person who sells used hardware and piece it together myself?

Depending of who's supporting you from financial point of view, you might go buying stuff or play first in a virtual environment with GNS3 and Dynamips. It's very good for starting (you'll miss some switching advanced features) and after that go with the hardware product aquisition.

Another alternative would be to rent real racks from time to time and mix that with the time when you practice at home with GNS3 and Dynamips.

Ebay....depending from where are you buying and where are you locate. The shipping can be more expensive that the device itself.

Good luck!
