Hi guys,

I have a couple of questions that I could not find answer.

Do these switches both support q-in-q?

Can I use regular SFP in the SFP+ slot?

I could not find any IOS version to support q-in-q for 2960 or 4948, so I guess it's not supporting it.

Also to your second question, I didn't find anything again using sfp modules in sfp+ slots.

Hi,

I had never seen q in q in the 2960 configuration guides section so i m pretty sure that it doesnt support q in q. I also remember that when one of my friend was designing metro ethernet for a company, Cisco advised him to use 3750 at the access layer, could be one of the reason.

and 4948E do support q in q tunneling.. below is the link from cisco where you can confirm it...

and about SFP+ slots check out this compatibility matrix of SFP's versus the module, Switch & IOS

Thx Hitesh for clarifying this as this was also important for me. Your info is more accurate than mine, so you have 5 points from me.
