Could someone please let me know if "unassigned" fragments indicate an issue on a multilink ?

See output below:

Multilink9, bundle name is XXX

  Bundle up for 1d12h
  0 lost fragments, 2861459 reordered, 23 unassigned
  0 discarded, 0 lost received, 2/255 load
0x60AF3B received sequence, 0x9E46A7 sent sequence
Member links: 4 active, 0 inactive (max not set, min not set)
    Se2/0/17:1, since 1d12h, last rcvd seq 60AF40
    Se2/0/18:1, since 1d12h, last rcvd seq 60AF65
    Se2/0/16:1, since 1d12h, last rcvd seq 60AF62
    Se2/0/4:1, since 1d12h, last rcvd seq 60AF37

Thank you.

I don't have that problem with my multilinks, but I've disabled fragmentation. Are you having an issue with the link?

Hi John,

I am trying to figure out if we are having an issue or not. I have a customer complaining of latency to an app.  I can see the sporadically high ping times and hops in a traceroute though those can be false positive.  All the circuits are running clean and nothing is being dropped.  The only thing I saw that seemed odd is the "unassigned" fragments in the output in the post. I dont know if I should be concerned about them or not.  I searched for a while on google and could not find out anything one way or another.

Thanks

Lynne

Can you post the config of that interface and the interface that's bonded to it? Take out public addressing and things....

Hello Lynne,

I didn't find an explanation for the field in command reference

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/dial/command/reference/dia_s3.html#wp1056146

However, because all other counters are 0 you should be fine:

0 lost fragments, 2861459 reordered, 23 unassigned
  0 discarded, 0 lost received, 2/255 load

Hope to help

Giuseppe
