Telnet timeout while VPN connected via ASA 5520

Hello Community;

When users are VPN connected their telnet sessions timeout after an hour of inactivity. Looking at the connections on the firewall they are showing as idle. Is there a configuration change or something else that has to be modified?

Any help will be greatly appreciated?

Thank You

Hi,

The tunnel never goes down? Is just telnet after an hour?

If the telnet connection is to the ASA itself, check the command:  sh run telnet (telnet timeout 60)

If it's telnet to an inside device, check the command:  sh run timeout

It might show you the connection timeout set to 1 hour.

Hope it helps.

Federico.

Hi,

You can use following to configure/change the default timeouts of tcp connections going through ASA (which is 1 hour).
