Fax to email on UCM Business Edition Unity Connection

Unanswered Question
Jun 4th, 2010

We have a customer that uses a hosted  POP mail service and would like to use the fax-to-email feature built into the PSTN router. We know that we can't deliver the fax to the hosted email provider but, is there any way to do this by sending the fax TIF directly to the Unity Connection to be delivered via the IMAP connection?

Anyone have any thoughts on how to do this or, if we can do this.. even in a workaround situation?

thanks

-Sam

Hello,

I don't have an exact answer for you. However, Unity Connection's only method for handling faxes is through Fax Integration.

This can found in the Unity Connection Business Edition Doc guide.

First here is pretty much all documentation for the Business Edition:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucmbe/docguide/7_1_2/dg712be.html#wp42678

Within this you will find the Unity Connection System Admin guide and more info on Fax Integration guide:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/7x/administration/guide/7xcucsag246.html

Further faxing info can be found here in the form of power point and videos if you find need for more info:

http://ciscounitytools.com/Training/Connection/CUC7_01.html

Look under 'Fax Support'

Hope this helps,

Scott
