SPA8800 as standalone system

Unanswered Question

Hi All,

I'm new to voice solution design. We are planning to set up Linksys IP Telephony at our office. After little investigation, i found I could use SPA8800 which can support analog phones and intergrate with IP network. I'm clear till this point. But am little confused on the end to end set up.

I want to use SPA8800 alone to connect my 4 analog phones and 4 PSTN lines and directly connect broadband to gateway.

I want to have similar set up in my remote office.

I want to make office to office calls via IP network while being able to use PSTN network.

(Branch A) Analog Phone ---> SPA8800 ---> [Internet] <---SPA8800 <---- Analog Phone (Branch B)

My Question:

Does the above scneario work? Or do we need mandatorily need a system like SPA9000 in between to make IP calls?

You help is much appreciated.

With Regards,

I have this problem too.

Dear Sir;

You will need to use a SPA9000 to route calls between the sites, assuming you have VPN between the sites.

I was away on annual leave for a while. So couldnt reply all these days.

Thanks for the info. It did help us to fine tune our design.
