Hi Valentine

Do you need Gigabit ports for connect the PC's ? How many ports would you need ?

CE 500 series switches were designed for small business. this switch supports dot1q trunking and other really basic/useful features like STP, auto qos, smartports, multicast, security etc..

http://cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/switches/ps5718/ps6545/product_data_sheet0900aecd80322aeb.html

Gigabit switch in CE 500 - Cisco Catalyst Express 500G-12TC Switch -

8 10/100/1000BASE-T and 4 10/100/1000BASE-T or SFP ports for flexible switch aggregation

I guess CE 500 have reached End of Life and have been replaced by ESW 500 switches.. Im not sure about the pricing of ESW switches, but you can refer the following models:

ESW-540-24-K9 (24 ports), ESW-540-8P-K9

Refer to the following URL

http://cisco.com/en/US/products/ps10143/prod_models_comparison.html

Hope this helps.. all the best..
