Radius Server in NSS 300 series

Hi I have two questions about new NSS 300 series:

-I don't understand well the radius server in this product. Does it works like a Radius server totally independent of NSS or the users you create in Radius Server are using later to give permissions over folders (I don't understand how). My question is: could you use NSS 300 series like an ACS with less funcionality?

-and the other question is about CIFS and NFS, could you use the same volume with CIFS and NFS?

Thank you in advance.

The NSS3XX series are capable of running a standard RADIUS server, not specific to users of the storage component.  This is an "extra" application that the platform can perform in addition to being a storage server.  Secondly you can have CIFS and/or NFS users access the same volumes.
