Solved: UCCX v5 and Oracle 10g

Our client with CCX v5 (Premium) wants to data dip in Oracle 10g. Will it work? If so should I install the Oracle client on the CCX server? Is it supported?

Hi

It's the only way - you need the ODBC drivers, or it won't work.

It's been a while since I used Oracle, so I would start by installing the client on a PC and testing ODBC connectivity from there. I'd be aiming to install the smallest amount of software possible (i seem to remember the Oracle software being quite large) so do a custom install and try to just install the ODBC drivers and no extra client tools.

Hello Solomon,

At this point the only Data Base that its supported for UCCX is SQL 2000, and needs to be the Cisco version that its ship by Cisco, any other Database will not be supported.

Hi Solomon,

If you have a premium license, you can query your enterprise database from your scripts to obtain data and then manage it in the script. The supported Enterprise Databases are shown in the pdf that Walter posted. Just search for your UCCX version and then in the column that says Enterprise Database. To tell you more all UCCX 5.X versions support Oracle 10g R2, Oracle 10g XE.

That its correct 5 points for you, sorry I missunderstand the question jajaja.

In this case you don't need to install the Oracle client in the UCCX server, what you will need to configure is a ODBC connection between both severs after that you will be able to query the Oracle from the script without any issue.
