Internet Access for internal server

We have a sharepoint server that I want to make accessible from the internet.  The server is part of an active directory domain.  It is located at the corporate office and is accessible by the plants through a vpn.  The outside sales force wants to be able to accesss it from the road.  What would be the best way to do this?  The router is a Cisco 1811 and the server has dual nics.

It depends. If you could do webvpn to access it from the "road" then that would be ideal.

If you can't do that then you could try accessing it through https or ssh depending on what the server supports. In order to do that you would need to open the router ACL of firewall if it has any, and potential statically PAT the https port for the server if the router is doing natting.

I hope it helps.

Thanks for the good answer.  I did get the webvpn setup.  But I cannot logon to the sharepoint server.  There is a dns error.

Unable to find the server sharepoint.  The server may not exist or access to it may not be allowed.

I am using dns and not wins.  Do I need wins?

Please post this to the VPN section of this forum and you will get more valuable answers.
