We're having great difficulty setting up our new ATA 186 analog telephone adaptor.
We have a very simple VOIP setup using SIP and were assuming we could just plug it in and enter the user/pass/proxy, etc.
No! Cisco won't help us as we bought the device from Amazon and they're not an autorised reseller??!!
I've managed to connect to http://ipaddress/dev but it looks like it's for SSCP and I need it to work with SIP.
Can anyone give me any help?!
Cheers

Hi
Yes, by default they will come with SCCP installed.
You can follow the admin guide which contains the upgrade process:
Same guide will also contain config info.

Hi Aaron,
I did find that doc but we can't download the software updates as we don't have a login or contract.
I've never seen such a complicated setup!
Any ideas what I can do next?
Cheers

Hi
Well - a quick google reveals this page : http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+phone+cisco+ATA18x
About halfway down, there is a link to a download of the SIP 3.1 firmware. That should do you nicely if you can pull it before someone from Cisco takes objection to it being there :-)
Regards
Aaron
