How To Extend the Duration of Call Forward NoAnswer on CME

Hi,

I have a CME installation (v4.x) installed at a seniors home.  The forward to vmail is too quick for most of them.  I know you can change the forward for individual phones by using the command:

  • call-forward noan [voicemail number]timeout 10

Does anyone know if there's a system wide parameter on CME to extend the cf noan time for all phones at once?

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Dave,

In CME this needs to specify in the phone configuration with the command that you mention, unfortunately there is no way to configure this timeout in system wide form.

Hi Dave,

Like my friend Walter nicely noted (+5 "W") there is no system-wide

setting for this type of change

call-forward noan

To configure call forwarding so that incoming calls to an extension (ephone-dn) that does not answer are forwarded to another number, use the call-forward noan command in ephone-dn or ephone-dn-template configuration mode. To disable call forwarding, use the no form of this command.

call-forward noan target-number timeout seconds

timeout seconds - Sets the duration that a call can ring with no answer before the call is forwarded to the target number. Range is from 3 to 60000. There is no default value.

From this good CME doc;

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/command/reference/cme_c1ht.html#wp1063669

The only way to mitigate the scope of these changes (minimally) would be to use ephone-dn-template configuration mode.

Hope this helps!
