I am trying to create a 1 root 2 map indoor mesh using the 2106 controller and 1131 AG AP's. Code train is 7.0.98. I convert the first AP to bridge mode prior to assigning it as the root and the AP reboots and never rejoins the controller. I wind up having to delete the private config before it will rejoin. So I have 2 questions: 1. will this hardware/software combination work and 2. if it will work where am I going wrong?
You are fine with that hw/sw combo. Did you add the AP's mac address to the mac filter list on the controller? When an AP is in bridge mode it has to be added to the mac filter list to be able to join.
