I'm having troubles making outbound calls. When 9 is dialed I get a busy tone and not secondary dial tone. I also debugged the dial-peers and it says there is no match????

Hi lyle ,

The sh isdn stat log shows Layer 2 as "AWAITING_ESTABLISHMENT" . You need to speak to the Service provider to check the status of the PRI in their switch end. The Physical connectivity is ok but the Layer 2 protocol between CME and the Service provider switch is down.

Thanks,

Gopi

Hi, may be your 'controller T1 0/1/0' is down. Can you please post your 'sh isdn status' output?

HTH.

I have called the service provider and there was an issuse with the T1. Thank you for your help.

On your configuration on router i can see:

!

isdn switch-type primary-dms100

!
interface Serial0/1/0:23
no ip address
encapsulation hdlc
isdn switch-type primary-dms100
isdn incoming-voice voice
no cdp enable
!

Are you sure about the switch-type? For generic case it's primary-ni but for your case it's primary-dms100, THOUGH it doesnt matter if it's the actual as your service provider. Ask your PSTN service-provider for proper switch-type, timeslot, signaling info and troubleshoot it until you can see 'MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED' at L2 under 'sh isdn status' command.

HTH.

Completely agree with you guys.

An important debug to diagnost this issues is the Q.921, that will let us know why the layer 2 is not up. Please call the Telco to double check the switch type and also collect the debug Q.921 in cases that will be necessary.

BTW +5 points for you guys great job!!
