Hi, For my internship I 'm ask to perform an inventory on a network of 150 devices including switch, routers and firewalls. This company has cisco devices and i was wondering if there is a way to gather the information withour having to login to every device.
The information I want to gather is the IOS version. running configs and if possibles age of the devices.
Is there a tool for this and what is the proper way to document a cisco inventory.
The help will be much apreciated thanks.

This can be done with tools such as CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution which will provide chassis inventory collection and configuration management features. More on LMS as well as a 90-day eval (for up to 110 devices) for Windows and Solaris can be found at http://www.cisco.com/go/lms.
If you want to do this with Open Source tools, take a look at something like RANCID (http://www.shrubbery.net/rancid/).
