Install background image in 7940 & 7921

Dear all,

Does anybody know how to install background image in IP Phone 7940 and 7921? I'm using CUCM 6.1.

I know how to put background image in IP Phone 7971, softphone using List.xml dan PNG picture.

Hi

7940s don't have background image support - newer models (7941,42,45) do. There is support for an idle URL which can display an image (search this forum for that if you are interested, e.g. https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/391981#391981) but it generally tends to get in the way of the phone user.

You can configure the background image on a 7921 with the Phone Customizer (I don't think the TFTP method is possible with that handset): http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cupa/phone_designer/7.1/english/release/PDReleaseNote71.html#wp42849

It's very easy - the only drawback is that it's not great for doing large numbers of phones; it's not really designed for admins, but for end-users to mess with their own single handset.
