Unity access with RDNIS while in SRST

Hello,

I'm trying to setup access to individual Unity subscriber accounts for a remote site while they're in SRST. The service provider has enabled RDNIS between the sites.  I have the remote MGCP gateway configured with "Redirecting Number IE Delivery - Outbound" and the home office MGCP gateway configured with "Redirecting Number IE Delivery - Inbound".  Here is a debug from both gateways (same call):

**Remote Office**

Bearer Capability i = 0x8090A2

                Standard = CCITT

                Transfer Capability = Speech

                Transfer Mode = Circuit

                Transfer Rate = 64 kbit/s

        Channel ID i = 0xA98396

                Exclusive, Channel 22

        Facility i = 0x9F8B0100A10F02010106072A8648CE1500040A0100

                Protocol Profile =  Networking Extensions

                0xA10F02010106072A8648CE1500040A0100

                Component = Invoke component

                        Invoke Id = 1

                        Operation = InformationFollowing (calling_name)

                                Name information in subsequent FACILITY message

        Calling Party Number i = 0x2180, '5558238199'

                Plan:ISDN, Type:National

        Called Party Number i = 0x80, '15553853802'

                Plan:Unknown, Type:Unknown

        Redirecting Number i = 0x000082, '5558238156'

                Plan:Unknown, Type:Unknown

**Home Office**

Bearer Capability i = 0x8090A2

                Standard = CCITT

                Transfer Capability = Speech

                Transfer Mode = Circuit

                Transfer Rate = 64 kbit/s

        Channel ID i = 0xA98381

                Exclusive, Channel 1

        Facility i = 0x9F8B0100A10F02010106072A8648CE1500040A0100

                Protocol Profile =  Networking Extensions

                0xA10F02010106072A8648CE1500040A0100

                Component = Invoke component

                        Invoke Id = 1

                        Operation = InformationFollowing (calling_name)

                                Name information in subsequent FACILITY message

        Calling Party Number i = 0x2180, '5558238199'

                Plan:ISDN, Type:National

        Called Party Number i = 0x80, '3802'

                Plan:Unknown, Type:Unknown

        Redirecting Number i = 0x000082, '5558238156'

                Plan:Unknown, Type:Unknown

The problem that I'm having is that the calls are going to the the main AA at x3802 and not the subscribers mailbox at 8156.  I'm not sure if I should try to manipulate the RDNIS digits from 10 to 4 (extensions and Unity MB's are all 4 digit) OR setup alternate extensions for the Unity subscribers that are the 10 digit DID number?  The home office gateway is setup with Significant Digits = 4, will the full 10 digit RDNIS still be passed with this setting?  I've read that SCCP signaling retains this info but I'm not sure if it will get passed from the gateway through CM, to Unity.

Any assistance or advice on this issue is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Marty

I believe it's going to have to be 10 digits on the carrier side. If you're coming into an H.323 gateway, you could use a voice translation rule to modify it.

Marty,

     Use Port Status Monitor to see what digits are being sent to Unity. Alternate extension with 10 digits should do the job.

Brandon

Brandon,

Thanks very much for the info. Are you aware of any way to control the number of redirect digits so I could just send out 4 instead of 10?

Thanks again,

Marty

Thanks Brandon, you've been a great help. We'll work with the carrier and will most likely need to configure the alternate 10 digit extensions.

Martin

I just came across this as I am trying to configure the same thing only we are on Connection instead of RDNIS.  I have configured our SRST gateway to send the redirecting number as a full 10 digits to make the carrier happy and have configured alternate extensions for all SRST users with their 10 digit number as well but I am still not able to get this to work.  My carrier is Time Warner Telecom at both locations and they support RDNIS in their network. I am sending them the following

Do you have any suggestions and were you able to get it to work correctly?  Thanks Liz
