As far as I know, if you take a CCNP level exam within three years of completing your CCNA it refreshes the validation for another three years.

Basically the exams are changing as follows:

642-901 BSCI to 642-902 Route

642-812 BCMSN to 642-813 SWITH

642-825 ISCW and 642-845 ONT to 642-832 TSHOOT

So if you complete BCMSN by July 31 you won't have to do 642-813 SWITCH after the change as it accounts for that. You'd only have to do ROUTE and TSHOOT to complete the CCNP.

If you're currently studying for the BCMSN then yes you have to pass it before July 31, after that you would have to sit the SWITCH exam instead.

If you don't pass a CCNP level exam within three years of the CCNA you'll have to redo the CCNA.

Olushola,

Yes, taking and passing the BCMSN exam before your CCNA expired would update your CCNA and your CCNA and the BCMSN are now valid until April 13, 2013. So now you must take and pass 642-902 Route and 642-832 TSHOOT, before  April 13, 2013. If you wanted you could try the BSCI instead of the Route exam but you must pass it before July 31,2010 for it to be valid.
