Solved: CUE: Error: Unsupported audio format

I'm trying to import a .wav file from a 3com NBX to a CUE 7.1 system. The .wav file has a bit rate of 32kbps, mono and 8000 Hz. The only thing I can't verify is if it's g711ulaw. It plays fine on my laptop but when I try to upload it to CUE I get an error: "Error: Unsupported Audio Format"

Is there any audio utility that I can use to verify and/or convert this file to work? This was a professional recording and they'd like to keep this recording.

Hi there,

I understand it is fairly pricey.

If you search "audio converter 8 bit wav" with any major search engine

you should find some "freeware" that can do the job for you.

You could also contact the people who did the recording and they might change the

format at a good price.

Hi there,

Create a .wav file with this format: G.711 U-law, 8 kHz, 8 bit, Mono. The file cannot be larger than one MB.

Thanks for the fast response!

That software looks nice but this is for a one shot deal. I can't justify the cost of getting the full version for one wav file.

Are there any other options other than recording a new greeting?

I figured it out with Audacity. I loaded the file and then under Edit --> Settings --> Preferences I went to the File Formats tab and changed the "Uncompressed Export Format" setting. I changed that to U-Law and exported the file! Uploaded and plays fine!

Thanks for the app suggestion though. I'll bookmark that for future reference.
