Hi

Put the name that you will configure the VG224 with, e.g. when you configure it (yep, you do need to put basic config on their - IP, mgcp commands, config download etc) you will set the hostname and optionally ip domain name:

hostname VG224-HeadOffice

ip domain-name mycompany.com

In that example your device name would be:

VG224-HeadOffice.mycompany.com

You may not set a DNS domain name, in which case the device name would be

VG224-HeadOffice

It is important that it matches exactly, if it's not right it won't register.

Finally, if you use DHCP it might pick up a domain name from DHCP even if you don't expect it - generally you'd use static addressing for this sort of thing though.

Hi

The MAC address of the LAN interface on the VG224 that you will bind the protocol to...

Do you mean SCCP?

MGCP would register by 'domain name' (i.e. hostname + dns domain name as configured on the VG224), not by MAC addres...
