VPN managing, Advice

Unanswered Question
Jun 24th, 2010

Hello,

We have VPN installed in our company with 2 routers and a pix, but we need to be able to create profiles for every user, to get information about time connected, historical data, etc. We have Cisco Works too (LMS3.2)

Could you please suggest us some tool to manage and/or monitor VPN's users?

Do we need some server, software or another device to manage VPN's users?

Thanks in advance!!!

I have this problem too.

I don't think there is any tool at the moment that will allow you to achieve this.

You  would have to analyze the syslogs for the VPN connection yourself and generate such a report. Of course this would require some homework from your side.

If you have some syslog parsing tool like MARS, this would make your job easier. If your VPN users authenticate via a AAA server like Cisco ACS, you can get limited accounting data from there.
