G722 supported for Call Monitoring/Recording Built in Bridge

We are using a 3rd party SPANless recording/monitoring solution that uses the 7941/61, 7942/62 built in bridge function. Are there any codec restrictions for Built in bridge? For example, is G722 supported? Currently, the phone firmware is SCCP4x.9-0-2SR1S. Thanks.

Without knowing your version I'll think you're running 8.0(2).

This feature supports any codec, the limitation might come from the recording system if there is a problem.

Codec for Monitoring and Recording Calls

In case your recording systems doesn't work with G722 you can disable it for devices you need to record the calls using the CUCM service parameter:

This parameter determines whether Cisco Unified Communications  Manager allows G.722 negotiation for all, some, or no devices. Valid  values specify Enabled for All Devices, Enabled for All Devices Except  Recording-Enabled Devices, or Disabled.

The vendor states they can support G711, G729, or G722. We are running v7.1.5.10000-12.

The service parameter you referenced does not appear to be available in 7.1.5. Due to transcoding issues for calls set up as G722, the parameter "Enabled for All Devices Except  Recording-Enabled Devices" would be useful.

According to the documentation it should be there (at least the 7.1(2) guide has it)

Are you sure you're looking at the right place?

CCM service parameters?
