Solved: MTU Limitation on Gig Interface

I read that the PA-GE module on the 7200 supports an mtu of >1500. I'm trying to set mine to 1546, but cannot. What command do I enter to enable support for this size?

EDR01#config t

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

EDR01(config)#int gig 5/0

EDR01(config-if)#ip mtu 1546

^

% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

EDR01 (config-if)#ip mtu ?

<68-1500> MTU (bytes)

Hello David,

it is also a question of IOS image

also you need first to increase mtu with mtu command then you may be able to increase ip mtu
