Needing to Install External MOH Player on UCM 4.2

Client has 40 plus locations and wants external moh players for very different messages at each location.  Any adaptors needed?  Could you possibly send messages to each site without external players?  Anyone with experience on this please respond.  Thanks.

You can only have 1 external MOH source PER server.

Globally you can define 50 MOH sources, 51 is the external MOH.

Depending on what you have this might also be an option:

Integrating Cisco Unified Communications  Manager and Cisco SRST to Use Cisco SRST as a Multicast MOH Resource

Ahhh.  Java, Java, Java.  I knew I should have checked to see if someone replied.  I got interrupted mid-reply and just went with it.  +5 to my favorite drink.

For MoH, you can have 51 audio sources.  One of which can be a fixed audio source.  The fixed audio source is an example of having an external audio device (e.g. satellite radio, ipod, etc.) that is hooked into a server.  The server (moh server) is configured to stream that fixed audio source.  I have not checked into this on CM 4.2, but have on appliance models (5x, 6x, 7x).  The part number that you would need is:

MOH-USB-AUDIO=

This is a product that Cisco OEMs.

From a CM cluster perspective, there is only one fixed audio source allowed (it is source 51, btw).  Though, different moh servers can host their own, local audio input.  The audio inputs don't need to be the same, however the audio source that you would assign to a device or line would need to be 51 if you want to use the fixed audio source.  The net effect, is that you couldn't provide diverse fixed audio sources per site using fixed audio input.

That being said, you have 50 other audio source files.  You would need to create these as .wav files and upload them to your cluster.  But the .wav files can have music, speech (i.e. "please hold and yada yada"), or a combination.  So, you may be able to accomodate your requirement.  It just depends on what the audio content is supposed to be.

HTH.

No worries Bill, seems to happen a lot lately. While you're searching for a link and copying the info someone already posted a reply.

It's never bad to have someone else providing some more input my friend +5 for your info.
