None of the above.

The Nexus is a Fabric Extender, to understand it in a much simple term, you can treat it as a remote line card of a chassis (Nexus 5000 and Nexus 7000).

Depends on the parent switch. If using a NX5K, use a L3 daughter card to make it L3 capable.
