Can I change a phone number in CM once I integrate to AD? We are adding UCCX and Calabrio, looking to sync CM (along w UCCX and Calabrio) with AD

Glad to help. If you find that your CUCM applications have different

pattern length requirements than what is provided by the AD telephoneNumber

attribute, you have a couple of options.

First, with MS AD you can leverage the ipPhone attribute to store the

"abbreviated" pattern (e.g. 4 digits). You can then modify your replication

agreement to sync ipPhone to CUCM telephone number.

Second, with applications like attendant console you can leverage

application dial rules to accomplish what you describe. This works best

when you are synchronizing telephone number fields with more information

rather than less.

Bill

depends. If you mean can you change the telephone number field assigned to the user object, then the answer is no. This field cannot be modified in CUCM and must be modified via the ldap backend.

Now, you can modify:

- phone line appearances. Ldap sync has no links to devices in any way

- primary extension for user object. This is a CUCM attribute not an ldap attribute

- UCCX extension for user object. Formerly, this was the ICD extension. Again, this is a CUCM attribute and not a ldap attribute.

Thanks, answered my question. AD will have to have the correct 4 digit extension number

it just means if the number is the FULL 10 digits show up in the number field, then my Auto Attendant users cant use their application to transfer from the PC, (or phone directory)
