3560 switch port POE error - %ILPOWER-3-CONTROLLER_PORT_ERR

Hi All,

need some help here.i have a cisco ip phone 7962G connecting to one of the gi port on 3560G-48 poe switch. the ip phone does not seems to boot up.

switch error>>%ILPOWER-3-CONTROLLER_PORT_ERR: Controller port error, Interface Gi0/30: Power given, but Power Controller does not report Power Good

the 'show inline power' shows enough power remaining to provide for an additional 7962G.

i have found previous threads on it, but do not seems to have any solutions.

Hi

Try this and see if it helps

1. Make sure that the devices are correctly grounded.
2. Check the speed/duplex setting on the remote end of the connection.
3. Perform a shutdown and no shutdown on interface

4. If the error message continues: There are several know bugs related to this message such as CSCeb24148.

5. Is it the only phone type or same phone types are connected to same switch.

If possible, post the model and IOS version of the device to further analysis.
