I passed the IE Security lab back in Jan 2006 and I re-certified with the IE security written in Dec 2007.
I let my IE # went into suspended mode earlier this year and I recently took the IE security written exam in May 2010 and passed. In CCIE status verification, I am now listed as re-certified until Jan 2012.
I am interested in taking the CCIE voice lab exam but I need to pass the IE voice written first.
My question is this. If I take the IE Voice written exam in July 2010 and passed, does it mean that my Security IE re-certified will be valid until Jan 2014?
According to Cisco re-certification guide line, it states this:
- To maintain active status, every 24 months CCIEs are required to pass one of the following:
any CCIE written exam of their choosing, a CCIE lab exam, or either of the CCDE exams.
- CCIE certification automatically extends other Cisco Career Certifications, such as CCNP or CCNA.
- Candidates can only apply one passed written exam towards recertification for every 24 month re-certification period.
Can someone elaborate on this? Thanks in advance.
