Is one better to use for metro ethernet? and why?

WS-C3750G-24T-E is a 24-port 10/100/1000BaseTx with 4 SFP ports.  It came with Enhanced Multi-Layer-Switch Image (but you can downgrade if you want).  WS-C3750G-24PS-S is a 24-port 10/100/1000BaseTx with 4 SFP ports.  The 24-ports are PoE capable (up to 15.4w each ports) but comes iwth Standard Multi-Layer-Switch Image (Layer 2 only) and you can upgrade.

What is your design to use either one for Metro Ethernet connection? 

We are currently using the WS-C3750G-24T-E as the layer 3 switch for our metro ethernet backbone but I am trying to figure out why this particular switch was used instead of a 3750G-24PS.

You want to use a 3750G, 24-port with PoE for your Metro Ethernet?  Care to share the philosophy?

Well... from what I'm reading  from all the replies, I don't see any big difference between the two.  Am I right?

I don't see any big difference between the two.

If you have money to burn, then you are right.  They are both 3750, 24-ports, with 10/100/1000BaseTx with 4 x 1Gb SFP ports.

However, if you want to use your resources properly, I'd use the PoE switch when you have the need to use PoE, such as connecting VoIP or wireless AP.  But for a switch-to-switch link?  I'd use the non-PoE.
