I have my DMS running in a network that navigates through a Proxy Server, is there a way to configure it in the DMM and SnS. I have seen the option in DMPs but not in the servers.

I need it so that I can publish web pages and RSS.

Thanks!

The DMM & SnS cannot be configured for Proxy use.

This is a known issue.

Check out:

----------

CSCte67952 - DMD:  RSS will not work after upgrade to 5.2

Symptom:

--------

The RSS ticker is not showing some content after upgrading to 5.2.

This is because DMD in version 5.2 uses Flash to display the RSS ticker

And the Flash 9 and 10 player has built in security to not allow content

from another domain.

This security feature is blocking the content.

Workaround:

-----------

There are several options available:

1: Only use RSS feeds from sites that allow cross site scripting.

2: Use a service line "Yahoo Pipes" service that acts as a proxy. This

will result in a a new URL that can be used in the DMD, bypassing

   any cross-site scripting.

Additional Note:

----------------

If you use the standard RSS feed in the Signage Design tool, it will work

with any RSS feed you have and you don't need a crossdomain policy file.

Cross Domain refers only to Adobe Flash Player and the ability to read

content from other domains. Its a security issue

As an example:

If your SWF file is hosted on www.cisco.com/flash/myflash.swf

And that SWF want to read any content (xml, rss, etc..) from rss.cisco.com/myrss/xml

That is allowed. If that same SWF file tries to access data on www.google.com/somedata.x

ml That would require a crossdomain.xml at cisco.com/crossdomain.xml that

lists google.com  This allows the Flash player to access content at google.com
