891 Router Wireless configuration

Answered Question
Jun 29th, 2010

I read somewhere when researching this router that the built in AP could be converted to a lightweight device and controlled via a centralized controller. I am trying to figure out how to do this however I can't find any documentation stating that is supported. Does anyone have any information on this? Or does anyone have a decent example on how to configure the wireless at all?  The documentation is very sketchy

I have this problem too.

Hi,

The below links will provide us the detailed explantion..

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps380/data_sheet_c78-519930.html (LWAPP support)

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/800/860-880-890/software/configuration/guide/wlan_ps380_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html (configuring the AP for autonomous mode)

Thank you, I was able to get it working now. Also if anyone chooses to do this over a VPN link you will need to adjust the

CAPWAP MSS and enable link latency in the controller. Once those settings are tuned a bit performance is very good.
