Good day all.

We are experiencing some issues with the above mentioned network cards in the new laptops. The cards only function on 10mb full duplex, any other setting on the switch or laptop result in the laptop not getting an IP from DHCP. We are running a mix of WS-C2950/2960 switches and the error occurs on all of them. Older machines work perfectly. Does anyone know of any solutions regarding this? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I have this problem too.

Hi Natius,

Did you manage to resolve this issue? as i currently have the same problem but with 3750 stacks. Initially we only got 10/FULL for the affected machines when directly connected to the stacks and the affected machines also failed to retrieve a DHCP address on some ports. Since upgrading the IOS we have managed to ensure we obtain a DHCP address when directly connected to all ports but still only 10/FULL via autonegotiation.

During the whole period we were always able to obtain 100/FULL and DHCP addresses when connected via an ip phone.

**UPDATE** The problem was due to the NIC and its in built "power save" setting, once disabled the NIC connected successfully everytime at 100/Full.
