Hi!:

I have a DMS that somebody else installed and configured but forgot the password. Is there a way to do password recovery with DMS 5.0.3?

Thank you in advance!

Karla

If you new the user's PWADMIN password, you could reset the superuser's password .

You need to access your AAI interface for
the Digital Media Manager(DMM) using the
"pwadmin" user.

# ssh -lpwadmin [ DMM-Server IP address or FQDN]

Cisco Digital Media Manager AAI

--------------------- DIGITAL MEDIA MANAGER ----------------------
-
-  RESET THE PASSWORD
-
-            CHANGE_ADMIN_PASSWORD     Change admin password
-            CHANGE_PWADMIN_PASSWORD   Change pwadmin password
-            RESET_SUPERUSER_PASSWORD  Reset superuser password
_
------------------------------------------------------------------
-                 < OK >              < LOG OUT >                -
------------------------------------------------------------------

* Select " RESET_SUPERUSER_PASSWORD  Reset superuser password "

* Verify by accessing the  Digital Media Manager(DMM) Web Gui Admin Console with
  "superuser" and the NEW Password.

If you don't now the PWADMIN password, you will need to re-image the appliance.

Hi there

Just an FYI

I had a customer that had lost their PW for both admin and pwadmin, TAC were able to provide an ISO image to reset the pwadmin, obviously used in a last resort condition.

Cheers

Andy

Hi,

I have a question, if i dont remmber the user or passwords, is there a way to reset them via CLI?

Also, i have a DMM 5.2 i noticed that theres a new version 5.3. can i upgrade from 5.2 to 5.3? or should i just install 5.3 as a new server instead of doing an upgrade?

i would like your help

sincerely,

Dante v.

Dante,

You need to have the PWADMIN RESET ISO (which like Andy mentioned can be obtained via TAC), You cannot use the keyborad and monitor to reset the pwadmin password.

Regarding your second question : Not all hardware platform support the latest code 5.2.3 and 5.3, You must check the release notes of each release to find hardware compatibility, The upgrade maintains your current assets and database whereas a Fresh Install configures the device from Scratch, Fresh install is only supported on UCS-210 platform.

If you wish to upgrade , you have to follow the upgrade path 5.2-->5.2.1-->5.2.2-->5.2.2.1 or

5.2-->5.2.1-->5.2.2-->5.2.3-->5.3

Release notes can be located at :

Hi Nguyen

Is it the AAI cli (admin) access you are having a problem with or the DMM GUI username/password (superuser)?

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy,
