Problème VTP sur Cisco 4506

Hi,

I have a problem with creation domain VTP between two equipments cisco, a Cisco 6506 and a Cisco 4506

The two equipments are relied with a fiber optic and trunking ports is configured in each equipment.

I want to create 2 domain VTP.

You can see the error message

Les deux sont reliés en fibre optique sur des ports TRUNK, je souhaite créer 2 domaines VTP, l'un sur mon réseau du 6506 et l'autre sur le réseau

du 4506.

Unable to understand the laguage written above,But as per the log check the vtp domain configured in server and rest of the switches.It should be same in order to work.

Hi,

A VTP domain is made up of one or more interconnected network devices that share the same VTP domain name. A network device can be configured to be in only one VTP domain.

I think you are trying to configure more than 1 vtp domain on single device

You have a trunk link between 6500 and 4500, which is making VTP traffic to flow across and leading the mismatch of VTP domain

As hitesh pointed the right thing you have trunk link between the two switches, If your VTP domains do not match on each side of a trunk link, then DTP will NOT work. You need to watch out for this as the ports will be up/up, but trunking will not be negotiated. You’ll need to either make both VTP domains the same, or hard-set the trunks with “switchport nonegotiate”.
