Solved: Voice Media Gateway configuration on mgcp

Hi All

I have configured E1 in the voice Media Gw on AS5400XM using ss7 on pri-group

and also the E1 using mgcp protocol,i can able to do both the configuration on the same MGW

but the links are fluctuating while trying to activate.

Could any one tell me whether SS7 pri-group and mgcp configuration is possible

on the same Media Gateway ?

Hi

You can configure the mgcp-pri group only when you are functioning your PGW in callcontrol Mode. I have

tested the similar configuration using ss7 and mgcp on the same mgw but only one protocol works on one mgw

either ss7- Q.931 or Mgcp.

The PGW2200 can only work in signalling mode -or- in call control mode. So MGW configured to this PGW works either using Q.931 ie ss7 pri-group configuration or Mgcp using ds0-group.

But not in both mode situation.
