I have 3 2620xm's, one as the central router with a T1 going to each of the other 2 routers. I would like to add a NM-2W module to the primary so I can add 2 more T1's from each location. The information I can find (and understand) regarding the card is that the NM-2W is compatable with the 2620XM but it says IOS 2600XM Series - 12.2(8)T1, my router says it has IOS 12.3 Will this IOS support the NM-2W module. By my thinking, 12.3 is a higher / newer IOS than 12.2 and therefore should work but I want to be sure before I start laying down that kind of scratch for modules and WICs.
Thank you in advance,
Yes 12.2(8)T1 IOS family support NM-2W . But it dosen't mean that the higher version will support the same feature.
But it should work. I don't think that the hardware support will be removed in higher version .You can use 12.3 Mainline IOS.
Because the 12.3 mainline IOS come from 12.2 T train family.
Typically if the card is supported in 12.2T train, it will also be supported in 12.3 mainline and above. So, if the card is supported on 12.2(8)T, then it should also be supported on 12.3 code. Hope this helps.
