We're running multiple PVC300 cameras and are syncing their time with the local router through NTP. The router is syncing with 3 Internet NTP servers. The NTP status on the router is synced and all the cameras are syncing properly as well. However, all 8 cameras show a time in the web GUI that is about 2-3 seconds behind that of the router. They do this continuously and across the board. All 8 of the cameras show the exact same time as each other and the same time as the router but minus about 3 seconds.
Addmittedly, this 3 second delay isn't a huge problem in this deployment. However, it is bothersome and interesting. With the level of precision demanded by NTP and the use of a local NTP server, the time difference should be essentially 0 and certainly less than 1 msec.
In a high security deployment or if the video were needed to be used in court, this could be a significant problem. Maybe this is related to how the camera OS utilizes NTP. I'm also curious if whatever is causing this problem could be causing other problems with the cameras. Has anyone else run into this problem?
