So, I am running Three WAE devices in total. one has CM and two as devices.all three are running same setting as stated below.

Software Version:
4.1.5f
Model:WAE-512-K9

It all started with a microsoft securrity update KB980233.

Issue : Cant save file's over the WAN. However when I loooked up cisco they said I need to upgrade from 4.1.1b  - > 4.1.5f in order to fix the issue.

So, I went ahead and upgraded the version and tested the WAN . Everything is working fine except the the intial issue was fixed partially .what I mean here is I can save a file from office A to  office B ( file server located in location B ) over the WAN. However when I tried to do the same from office B to office A ( location of file server located in office A) over the WAN.

Cuurent Issue: Unable to save the file over the WAN in one location.

Any help is greatly appericiated .

Thanks,

Soofi

Soofi,

4.1.5f addresses all the known (at least by me) issues with saving documents.

I think you will need to open a TAC case or disable cifsao, or potentially try what's new in 4.2.1.

Choice is up to you, I can't recommend one way or the other.

We need some additional information to troubleshoot this here:

  • What is the error seen on the client?
  • What are the client and server OS versions (including service packs)?

In addition, it would be nice to have:

  • System Reports from both WAAS devices taken right after the error is seen.
  • The IP address of the client and server.
  • Working and non-working (i.e. with and without WAAS) packet captures from the client.

Regards,

Zach
