Solved: SPAN on 6500 series

Hello All,

I want to configure SPAN on 6500 series for SNORT IDS, it has multiple Vlan and all Vlan are of layer 2, Can you please guide me how can I achieve this?

Hi Jagdev,

Following configuration will work for local span and will give all traffic

output on the destination port which you have configured Gi9/10

Hi Ganesh,

Thanks for reply, As per the document and my knoweldge i can configure SPAN as i have given configuration example bleow, and that should not make any raise in CPU utilization as 6500 deos not use CPU to switch Packets or mirror packets.

monitor session 1 source Vlan 1-100 , 350

monitor session 1 destination interface G9/10

am i right and can i go ahead with this configuration?
