Hello,
I am trying to find out if CUCM 7.1.4 is supported on the new IBM M3 servers? All Cisco docs point to the M2 which is now EOL for IBM.
The server I need to check is as follows:
x3250 M3, Xeon 4C X3450 2.67GHz/1333MHz/8MB, 2x1GB, O/Bay HS 3.5in SATA/SAS, SR BR10il, 351W p/s, Rack |
2xIBM 250GB 7.2K HS SATA HDD |
Can anybody please help confirm or otherwise if this server would be OK
Kind regards
Andrew Dominic

Hi
Thanks for the link you sent, however,
the link you sent refers only to M2 series servers which are end of life ie you can no longer buy them from IBM channels
Does Cisco plan to support the newer M3 variants? These we can buy
Kind regards

Just looked this up and there are plans for these new platforms, however, I'm not sure they will support old versions of CUCM.
I'd recommend you to wait until any of the links I provided reflect M3 servers and which configurations will be supported.
You may reach your Account Team if you want further information.

Yeah thanks not really the advice I was looking for. Any idea on a timeline?
This is not the most helpful of forums if this is the quality of advice, that I should wait. Most bizarre approach, is that how Cisco got so big?
Kind regards

This is a PUBLIC forum on which there isn't any guarantee you will get a response. As such, there is a lot of info that cannot be shared or posted here.
This is something you should be discussing with your account team so you can get timelines and versions.

Ah sorry if that sounded strong. I appreciate your assistance of course. Do we have a Cisco Channel partner forum where we might share more sensitive data such as predicted roadmaps etc?
