I have a 7941 attached to a 6509, the phone powers up but stops at Ethernet disconnected. I have swapped for a known working 7941 which completes the power up process and is usable. I have read past postings which suggest the fault to be the RJ45 outlet but this would mean all phones attached to that outlet would present the some message which they do not. Previously the installation was Nortel IP phones which were fed from a power injector hub, this was left in place as it is capable of powering the 7941. Would this hub have damaged the 7941?
Regards
Barrie

Check phone RJ45 socket for bent pins.

Checked the RJ45 socket on the telephone and that's okay. The PoE has been supplied to the floor by PowerDsine injector hubs for the old Nortel telephones, is it possible these are damaging the 7941's?

I had this problem too with a 7942.
Disconnect the ethernet cable from the network point and install in another. This resolved the issue for me
