Silent Monitoring with UCCX 7.01

Unanswered Question

I was wondering if anyone had any tidbits they could share on silent monitoring.  I am running into an issue at a customer location where about 2/3 of the computers are working but they others are not, when you try to monitor them with the supervsior desktop you get a pop up window that says Voice Monitor error, silent monitor session failed and gives a bunch of reasons.  The customer has updated the drivers for both the intel and Broadcom NICs and has also done the reg edit for the Cisco doc.  None of the NICs are on the three year old list of approved network cards.  These are all Dells most are SFF and the other are laptops like the 430 or 420 series.  The customer does not want to SPAN all the voice vlans and use the second NIC on the UCCX server.  Thanks

I have this problem too.

Fisrt try to checkout this doccument and be sure that everything its configure as mention there, after that the best way to go will doing a snigger capture in the CAD and CSD when trying to do the monitor..

For those you can not monitor, what is their PC OS? We have the same problem if agents use Windows 7 PC.

Please perform following steps to resolve this issue.

1. Please provide details of Agent and supervisor machines( OS,NIC details ).

If you are using CAD 6.6 .It only supports WinXP SP2,SP3 and Windows Vista only

Agent Machines

  • Firewall should be off
  • telnet 59000 (it should work otherwise silent monitoring will not work)
  • Run  C:\Programfiles\Cisco\Desktop\bin\postinstall.exe and select right IP address  and click Apply.

UCCX Server as Chat Server

  • Check all phone are configured for silent monitoring .
  • telnet 59020 (it should work otherwise silent  monitoring will not work).

I know it is not supported by Cisco for UCCX 5.x and 7.x be used on Windows 7. However, they do work with Windows 7 except Monitoring and Recording. I tested telnet between Agent PC (Win 7) and UCCX server on port 59000 and 59020, both are working. When trying to monitor or record, get the following in the log:

2010-07-14 12:59:08.403 ERROR FCVMD2017 CFCDMSnifferSession::_snifferThread: Unable to open the NIC adapter for sniffing. Please reconfigure the installation

Anyone get this problem? Anyone knows how to fix it?
