We have a UC500 and wanted to deploy call connector. But most of our systems are 64 bit and not compatible with the current call connector. Are there any 3rd party alternatives?

The newest version of the Call Connector SCC 2.0 will have support to x64. It should be orderable shortly.

  • SCC Toolbar (StandAlone Toolbar) – has been released only for the x32 bit Windows OS.
  • SCC Operator (Operator Console) – supports both x32 and x64 bit Windows OS.
  • SCC Advanced Client (Needs Server) – supports both x32 and x64 bit OS. Adv-Client Toolbars available for x64bit as well. However MAPI integration with Outlook x64 is not supported for lookup and directory view (Outlook 2010 x32 bit will operate on x64 bit Windows) . Users will be able to right-click and dial Outlook contacts from within Outlook.
  • SCC Server – supports x32 and x64 Window and Windows Server platforms. In addition, they can also be installed on VMWare and MS-Hyper-V virtual machine environments.

Why will this not be supported?

" However MAPI integration with Outlook x64 is not supported for lookup and directory view (Outlook 2010 x32 bit will operate on x64 bit Windows) "

Outlook 2010 x64 uses the x64bit MAPI library, the current SCC application supports the x32-bit MAPI. Support is planned for this x64-bit library and will be included in a later SCC Advanced Client release.

Oak do a product called Connect which has much the same functionality but in a more user friendly UI. I'm not sure if it is x64 but contact them and ask. www.oak.co.uk
