Hi,
Sorry if this is the wrong section, please move if so.
I have booked my CCNA for the end of august, my home lab currently consists of:
2x1720 with wic-1B S/T & WIC-1T
1x2514
2x2900xl
though the book I am reading says that the exam uses the 2950.
Is there any functional difference between them for the purposes of the exam? I would like to avoid buying a 2950 if possible, but if the differences warrant it I will.
Thanks in advance,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,
For the propose of the exam, as long as you learn the commands and you know how to do the basics, you do not have to buy a 2950. If the book talks about a command that you don't see on the 2900 just look it up on the "Command Reference Guide" for 2950 and know how to use it.
Good Luck
Reza

Damnit just discovered neither my 1720s or 2514 support vlan trunking how annoying.
Thanks.
