LWAPP: Upgrading a 1242AG to lightweight mode

Answered Question
Jul 19th, 2010

Hello,

i'm trying to upgrade a autonomous ap AP-AIR1242AG to lightweight, but evertime i start the tool the process is stopped, because the the tool can't reach the controller. The Tool recommands that i should permit Telnet, but it is allready permitted.

i can reach the management interface by ping, but anything else (web, ssh, telnet) doesnt work

the ap has the the version 12.3(7)JA1

controller (wlc 5508) 7.0.98.0

Upgrade Tool 3.4

Image 12.3(11)JX1

Can anyone  help me to solve this problem?

I have this problem too.

If it is a newer 1242 AP I'd just manually load the LWAPP Conversion image.

using this command

archive download-sw /force-reload /overwrite tftp:///c1240-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.JA2.tar
