Hunt Pilot Config

Hi,

My customer has two line button IP Phones and is currently using only the first button for calls which forwards calls to unity for no answer or busy scenario.

1.Now he wants to implement a Hunt Group with "broadcast" call-distribution algotithm on the same button as a part of hunt group. Will this cause any issues?
The customer also wants any unanswered calls should go to the IP Phone's existing voicemail box.

2.Will not using the second/separate button on the IP Phone for voicemail(as part of hunt group facility) cause any issue,
since each the IP Phone has its own voicemailbox.

3.For the broadcast function if the hunt group consists of say two members. If both phone ring and nobody answers, the call will be routed to whose voicemailbox, first phone or second phone's mailbox.

Thanks

Lets start by defining clearly the terms

Pilot point/hunt group are for AC

Hunt pilot/hunt list/line groups are for any phones.

Are you going to configure AC????

1.Now he wants to implement a Hunt Group with "broadcast"  call-distribution algotithm on the same button as a part of hunt  group. Will this cause any issues?
The customer also wants any  unanswered calls should go to the IP Phone's existing voicemail box.

Any calls that arrive to a DN via a hunt pilot or pilot point bypass any CF settings on the line and follow whatever FW behavior you configured.

2.Will  not using the second/separate button on the IP Phone for voicemail(as  part of hunt group facility) cause any issue,
since each the IP Phone  has its own voicemailbox.

has nothing to do, read next one to better understand

3.For the broadcast function if the  hunt group consists of say two members. If both phone ring and nobody  answers, the call will be routed to whose voicemailbox, first phone or  second phone's mailbox.

To neither of them, it will look for a VM box that matches the pilot point/hunt pilot DN

1.The CCM is 4.x

2.They are not going to use AC.

3. so if no phone answers, the call will be FWDED to Hunt Pilot voicemail box in unity. Correct?

Does that this means the voicemail box settings of individual phones are ignored during hunting?

4.So that means it is o.k. to use one button as phone extn as well as hunt group member.Correct?

Thanks

OK, no AC means NO HUNT GROUPS.

You're going to use hunt lists/line groups/hunt pilots.

They're not the same and should not be confused.

The hunt pilot has forward hunt no answer and forward hunt busy settings to configure.

As I already mentioned, the only observed forward settings are those I just mentioned, whatever FW settings you have on the lines are ignored.

You forcefully need to use a DN in your phone and add it to a line group if you want it to ring, so yes, it's OK.

Just a comment to see if helps, you can forward the hunt pilot number to a callhandler in the voicemail, that callhandler can takes a message from the person that is calling and send that message to the mailbox of one of the phone that is in the line group.
