Re: Question on NAC 3350 ...

Hi,

I have a few questions with regards to the Cisco NAC. The questions are :-

1) If say that I have two CAMS that are in HA mode and if I need to upgrade them to

a newer code, would it be possible to upgrade one code to a newer version, 4.5 and leave

the the other CAM at its existing version, ie 4.1 ?

2) What is the permissible time difference/ permissible skewed time between the CAM and the switch before the CAM ceases communicating

     to the switch ?

Pls advice,

Cheers,

-SN-

I have this problem too.

1) Only if you leave one CAM shut off (ie, you're upgrading a failover pair and want to leave half of the pair on the original version and shut down until you fully test the new software version).  CAMs that are in an HA pair and on different versions will still attempt to sync the database between them, and this will most likely cause unrecoverable database corruption.

2) Is this for an OOB controlled switch?  If so, it's controlled by the SNMP timers on the CAM and switch.
