XR 12000 or CRS-1

we're upgrading some of the junipers and are torn between the XR12000 and CRS.

whom has experience from both? is the XR12000 too much of a risk to handle the full table?

it should be able to handle the full internet routing table plus more.

should we just bypass it and just move forward with the CRS?

It's the kind of discussion you should have with your account team. Many criterias can be taken into consideration before making a choice like this one:

- Hw and sw roadmap of both platform

- Bw requirement per slot

- Features supported

- Scalability

- ..

already down that road; both platforms have what we need

Ok. From what I see, CRS is pushing the GSR to the edge or they are simply replaced where more capacity/ports are required. Also if you are already thinking about 100GE in your core then CRS is the way to go.
