Hi
As a cost effective system, I am wondering if it is better to install a number of DMPs in our environment or whether I can achieve similar results by implementing DMEs instead. Perhaps a mix of these units is possible?
Secondly, is there any point in having a remote control if we do not intend to use Cast or live TV.
Many Thanks

The remotes are for Digital Media Players only. They do
not work with the TV controls. That said, the Remote will
work on all of the DMPs. The remote is not tied to a specific
DMP.

Hi,
In order to give you my opinion please let us know what is your "enviroment" like and what is your intended audience target!

Hi
We have anumber of screens really.
Firstly we will be targetting guests who may be interested in our products. It would be nice to be able to put up specific target marketing to these people.
Secondly we are looking to implement a system for our employees, so that we can keep them updated.
Would a DME be of any use here?
Thx

My apologies for being redudant, but you need to ask yourseld
some questions first and then you can decide what is the possible solutions.
* What is your anticipated content delivery method to the end user?
For example, do you want Digital Signs or do you want a PC based
application?
* Where are you getting the Media Content from and what "Format"
type is going to be in?
For Example, Live Streaming, Video files, Presentations, Slide decks, etc...
Once we know this some suggestions can be made...
Thanks

Apologies for being vague Tomas and thanks for replying.
What we will be looking for really are Digital signage actually.
We aim to be putting up information on Video, Images, Slidedecks, presentations but no live feeds.
I imagine that we will be implementing these on different audiences at different times during the day.
I think that DMP is the right solution but am not sure would a DME actually work the same.

You definitely want to use the DMPs (Digital Media Players).
DMPs are used for Digital Signs and
DMEs are typically used for Show and Share.
The DME (Digital Media Encoder) is an encoder which is typically
used to deliver "Live" events to the Show and Share Appliance.

In regards to the remote, you may still need one if you want to use cast for customers.
If you are using videos, you could set an entry for each customer and use cast. then
use the remote to switch screens to appropriate customer. Or you can simply schedule
or manually make the changes via the DMM.
I hope this clears things up!
cheers!

Many Thanks Tomas.
One last one - Are the remotes universal or do we need one per player?

The remotes are for Digital Media Players only. They do
not work with the TV controls. That said, the Remote will
work on all of the DMPs. The remote is not tied to a specific
DMP.
