UC540 configuring CM list/tftp timeout

Hello,

I have a UC540 + 2 x 7937 phones with almost default config. I removed the firewall part from the UC540, the rest is at default.

If i connect the phones to the internal switch ports, they work well.... i can make internal calls.

I configured an ip address on the fe 0/0 of the UC540 with ip address 172.17.8.160/24.

I installed IP Comm on my laptop and cofigured it with tftp 172.17.8.160.

I can call the the two7937 phones, everything is working.

I take one 7937 and disable dhcp, configure an ip address from the 172.17.8.0/24 subnet, and the tftp server 172.17.8.160.

When the phone boots it stays a long time in configuring CM list then tftp timeout.

From the phone i can ping the UC540 and from the UC540 the phone.

What is the problem here?

Thank you,

laszlo

Laszlo,

It sounds like the phone's TFTP request may not be making it to the CME IP address.

Run 'debug tftp events' and see if you see the TFTP request for the phone config file.  That should shed some light on where in the process the registration is breaking down.

Also, make sure that you don't have TFTP bound to a different interface than you are manually specifying on the phone.
